DMSS Alarm Notifications Setup

The following steps will show you how to setup the DMSS app to send alarm notifications for motion detection and/or Smart Motion Detection (SMD).

Let's start by opening the app. On the Home page, you should see the device you previously added with whatever name you gave it. In my case, my device is called "My NVR". Tap the ellipsis "..." on the far right of your device. Then, tap Device Details on the menu at the bottom.

When you see this page, you can tap Multi-Channel Alarm Subscription. This is the section we will use to enable the notifications.

You can enable the notifications at the top, and below you will see some options for the types of alarms we want. The most common ones are "Motion Detection" and "Smart Motion Detection/SMD". Most systems these days will be able to support either one, but older systems may only have Motion Detection. I will be using Motion Detection for the purpose of this guide, but the process is nearly identical for either one. Tap on the type of detection you'd like to use.

Here, you can select whatever cameras you'd like to receive notifications from using the checkboxes on the right. Check any cameras you want to alert you. Then tap the arrow at the top left to go back.

You should now see the number of cameras you enabled on the right of the detection type you chose. The last thing you can change is the Period Settings. By default, notifications will come through 24/7. The period settings let you change the hours you would like to receive the alerts. It works on a 24-hour clock (00:00 would be midnight, 23:59 would be 11:59 PM). Adjust this if needed, and tap Save at the bottom.

You will now receive notifications for whichever detection type you chose from your DVR/NVR. If you do not receive these alerts, you may need to adjust your Motion Detection or SMD settings on the recorder itself.
