1. Requirements

You will need the following for this guide:

  • A Windows or Mac computer *
  • An Internet router with Wi-Fi and Ethernet ports *
  • A 12v DC power adapter (included)
  • An Ethernet cable (included) *
  • Our Guard Station software (free for download on our website here)
  • Our SV Max mobile app (free for download on the App Store or Google Play Store)

* The Windows/Mac computer, the Internet router, and the Ethernet cable are only necessary for first-time setup.

2. 4G Camera Setup

Plug in the provided 12v DC power adapter into a sufficient power source and into the camera. Plug the camera into your Internet router using the provided Ethernet cable as well.

Download and install the Guard Station software from our website onto your Windows/Mac computer (found here). Make sure you are connected with either Ethernet or Wi-Fi to the same Internet router that the camera is plugged into. Within Guard Station, go to Device Management, and you should see the camera listed within the software after one minute of it being powered on.

Type the IP Address of the camera into a web browser such as Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome. You will be greeted with a login page that says "SureVision". Login to the page with the username admin and the password 123456.

The page will then ask you to create a new password. Put in 123456 for the old password and create your own with at least eight characters including one letter, one number, and a special character. You should also enter a valid email address that will be used in case the password is ever forgotten.

You should now see the image of your camera. At the top, click on Setup, then go to Network > Network. You should see a page like below. If Obtain IP Address is set to DHCP currently, change that to Static, and click Save. It may have you refresh and log back in when this is completed.

Click Setup at the top once again, and select Network > Mobile Network. You will need to enter the APN and Access Number. The APN is determined by the Mobile Carrier for your SIM Card. Here are a few examples:

Verizon: vzwinternet
T-Mobile: fast.t-mobile.com
AT&T: NXTGENPHONE

Enter the dedicated APN for your specific carrier. The Access Number will be a number between 1 and 3. Try using 1 first, and change to 2 or 3 if it doesn't work. You do not need to enter anything in the Username or Password boxes. Click Save, and the camera will attempt to connect. If successful, the Network Status should say Connected.

3. Mobile Device Setup with SV Max

The below section will instead show you how to add the camera directly to the SV Max mobile app.

First, download the application from the App Store or Google Play Store. You will also need to get through the initial setup of the app if you have not already. If you need guidance, Steps 3 and 4 of this guide here will walk you through the process.

On the web page of the camera, go to Network > P2P. The status will show Offline because the camera is not connected to a cloud account. Within the SV Max app, tap the + sign at the top right and scan the QR Code shown on the P2P page.

The app will let you name the camera, and then add it to your account. You should now be able to see the Live View and Playback from your phone. Disconnect the camera from the Ethernet cable and you should continue to see video after a few seconds.

If you have any issues or questions with the setup, feel free to contact us via phone or email.
