SureVision Playback & Backup Guide

This guide shows you how to review recorded video, use playback controls, create video clips, and back up footage to a USB drive from your SureVision NVR.

Two Ways to Review Video

Instant Playback

Instant playback shows the last 5 minutes of video from the selected camera window.

Recording Playback

Full playback lets you search recorded video by timeline, camera, and event type, then rewind, fast forward, zoom, and clip saved footage.

Playback Controls You Should Know

SureVision playback includes play, pause, stop, reverse, rewind and forward, frame-by-frame stepping, timeline zoom, snapshots, clipping, digital zoom, sound controls, and custom tags.

Timeline Tip
In full playback, the timeline uses different colors for different recording types. You can also hover over the timeline to preview thumbnails and zoom in or out for more precise review.

How to Back Up Recorded Video

Insert a USB drive or external USB hard drive, then go to the backup screen. Search by camera, date, and time, select the file or files you want, and click Backup. The recorder will display a progress bar while it exports the files.

Video Backup Format

Exported backup video files are saved as .MP4.

Image Backup Format

Image backup uses the default .JPG format.

USB Formatting Note

The NVR can format supported USB devices, with NTFS required for devices over 2TB.
